ENCORE is a mixed voice choir of about 65 singers.  We perform at least twice annually, Christmas and Spring and are happy to perform at charitable events in York Region
The  choir has been singing together since 1988ish  Until the spring of 2015 we were pleased to be sponsored by the York Region District School Board (YRDSB) and were known as YRDSB Staff Singers. With the loss of that sponsorship we regrouped forming two separate and distinct choirs. ENCORE is the larger choir and TAKE NOTE a smaller singing ensemble. Together we share the extensive music library built under the leadership of previous conductors and the membership of YRDSB Staff Singers.
 
ENCORE IS presently directed by Deirdre Lawrence B. MUSIC (Western University)  M. Sacred Music (University of Toronto).
Our present accompanist is George Vandikas


We perform classical, jazz, folk, spirituals and show tunes. New members are welcome. The ability to read music is helpful, but not required. No auditions are required.
